New York's Chinatown is only a few blocks from Wall Street, but it is such a different world that visitors may wonder if a passport is required to enter the neighborhood. The narrow sidewalks are lined with grocers and fish-mongers selling exotic produce and seafood, and the streets teem with local residents, shoppers, vendors, families and tourists. It's well worth a visit for the experience alone, but this bustling neighborhood is also home to some of the best Chinese restaurants on this side of the Great Wall.
